The State Office of Children’s Services is soliciting applications for Toxicology Services Provider
Agreements. Applicants
interested in providing these services, must agree to the conditions of a

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is accepting proposals for its Cash & Counseling Program. The goal of the program is to
expand a proven model of consumer-directed supportive services to more states,
allowing thousands more older adults and people with disabilities to have
choice and control over the care they receive.

The National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and
Depression is accepting applications for its 2004
Independent Investigator Awards. These awards support research into the
causes, cures, treatments, and prevention of severe psychiatric brain
disorders. Awards of up to $50,000 a
year for two years are available. The
deadline is March 5. For more

The Brookdale Foundation Group provides
funding through its Group Respite Program, which is designed
to assist community agencies in developing respite services for people with
Alzheimer’s disease and their families.
The goal of the program is to offer opportunities for persons with
Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia to engage in a program of meaningful
social and recreational activities in a secure and supportive setting in order
to maximize their cognitive and social skills.
The program also offers relief to family members and other primary

ConocoPhillips Alaska provides grants to
nonprofits that improve the quality of life for Alaskans in such areas as human
services and education. There is no
deadline for grants under $5,000. For larger
grants, the deadline is September 1. For

The Manager’s Guide to Program Evaluation: Planning,
Contracting, and Managing for Useful Results, outlines
how an organization can benefit from appraising it’s programs, and gives advice

The Anchorage screening of West 47th
Street will take place on at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 5 at
the University of Alaska Anchorage Wendy Williamson Auditorium. The film reveals the human face of mental
illness – and the faith and courage with which its victims fight to recover
control of their lives. Following the
screening, a panel of mental health professionals will present information on
mental illness and answer audience questions.

Authority include those Alaskans experiencing mental illness; developmental
disabilities; chronic alcoholism; or Alzheimer’s disease or related
dementia. You can learn more about the

The Alaska Mental
Health Trust Authority's Small Projects Funding program is designed to create new services of
direct benefit to Trust beneficiaries.
These services are not normally funded by another part of government.
They can be
innovative, new program
ideas, or substantially improve and supplement existing activities. They can also significantly increase the
quality of ongoing projects. Each small
project is limited to a maximum of $10,000. The intent is to spend
half of the Small
Projects Fund ($250,000 yearly) on high quality rural projects.

February 1, June 1 and October 1. For
