The State of Alaska Division of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse is soliciting proposals to provide community alcohol and substance abuse services throughout Alaska for the following grant programs:
Community-Based Suicide Prevention Program – Proposals are due by March 9.
Rural Human Services Systems Program – Proposals are due by March 16.
Community Prevention Program Services – Proposals are due by March 30.

The State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services has released two capital grant RFPs: Proposals for Trust-beneficiary Facility Deferred Maintenance are due March 9. Proposal for Trust-beneficiary-related Equipment are due Feb 26. The contact is DHSS, Facilities and Planning Office, Arnold Liebelt, 907-465-3037. The U.S. Department of Labor’s demonstration projects for youth offenders program is accepting proposals to provide services aimed at youth who are or have been under criminal justice supervision. The U.S. Department of Education is accepting proposals to support programs that expand and improve rehabilitation and other services for individuals with disabilities, including technical assistance that meets the needs of underserved populations. The Municipality of Anchorage is accepting proposals for its Community Development Block Grant Program Capital Projects for 2001 and 2002. The deadline is February 26. Contact Barton Mauldin at 907-343-4590.
The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation’s draft Public Housing Agency Plan is now available. You can access the Agency Plan by calling 907-330-8277 or http://www.ahfc.state.ak.us There will be two public hearings on the draft Agency Plan on February 13 and March 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at 4300 Boniface Parkway, Suite 150, Anchorage. Persons outside Anchorage can participate in the public hearings by going to their local AHFC public housing office. Persons located in communities without AHFC public housing offices may participate by telephone. Written comments may also be submitted.
