Authority, Rural Funding Coordination Project. These messages provide

opportunities, publications, and potential funding sources, with an emphasis on
rural Alaska.
The Alaska Division of Behavioral Health is soliciting letters of interest
for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery programs. It is anticipated
that awards will result in a two-year grant period (July 1, 2005 through June

The State Division of Juvenile Justice is soliciting Non-Secure Attendant
Care Shelter Provider Agreements for work in the Dillingham area. The

The State Department of Health and Social Services is soliciting letters of
interest for its Adult Day Services program. The primary population is
people of any age with Alzheimer's or related disorder, those who are in danger
of institutionalization, or for frail elders age 60 and over. The deadline

The Administration for Native Americans is accepting proposals for its Social
and Economic Development Strategies program. The program funds new
community-based projects that are focused on strengthening children, families,
and communities through incorporated community-based organizations, tribes and
village governments. The deadline is April 19. For more information,

The Commonwealth Fund is accepting proposals that support research on health
and social issues. The Fund makes grants to improve health care practice
and policy. Types of support include program development, program

The Allstate Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations that
improve the quality of life in their communities. They focus on the areas
of tolerance, inclusion, and diversity; safe and vital communities; and economic
empowerment. They are especially interested in programs that recognize and
value people of varied backgrounds, including ethnicity, gender, physical
challenges, age, and lifestyle. There is no deadline. For more

The CIRI Corporate Giving program provides grants to nonprofit organizations
that provide educational opportunities for youth, and gives priority to projects
that serve low-income and disadvantaged youth. They also support programs
that provide services to the homeless, as well as preventive and primary health
care in the areas of heart disease and diabetes. There is no

To Improve Health and Health Care: Volume VIII analyzes the Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation and its efforts to improve the well-being of health across
the nation. The volume examines some of the programs, such as its

The beneficiaries of the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority include those
Alaskans experiencing mental illness; developmental disabilities; chronic
alcoholism; or Alzheimer's disease or related disorders. You can learn
more about the Trust at www.mhtrust.org.
The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority, Small Projects Funding program is
designed to create new services of direct benefit to Trust beneficiaries.
These services are not normally funded by another part of government. They can
be innovative, new program ideas, or substantially improve and supplement
existing activities. They can also significantly increase the quality of
ongoing projects. Each small project is limited to a maximum of $10,000.
The intent is to spend one half of the Small Projects Fund ($250,000 yearly) on
projects that serve beneficiaries in rural areas. The deadlines are February 1,
