The Alaska
Department of Health and Social Services is
accepting proposals for its Resource Family
Training and Support Services program. Resource
Families are those who are relative placements,
foster parents, adoptive parents and/or guardianship

The U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services is
accepting applications for its Healthy Tomorrows
Partnership for Children Program. The purpose
is to stimulate innovative community-based programs
that employ preventive strategies to promote access
to health care for children and their families
nationwide. The funding is for direct service
projects. Approximately $450,000 will be available
for an estimated nine awards. The deadline is

The Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation is accepting
applications for its Information Links
program. The goal of the program is connect state
and local public health agencies with health

The
National Children's Alliance is seeking
applications to establish Children's Advocacy
Centers. The goal is to help prevent child
abuse. One-year grants, ranging from $5,000 to
$50,000 will be awarded in the areas of abuse
prevention, member-program development, program
support, research, and training. The deadline is

The Mary
Byron Foundation is accepting nominations for
its Celebrating Solutions Awards. Up to four
awards of $10,000 each are available for
community-based programs designed to prevent
domestic violence. Preference will be given to

The John A.
Hartford Foundation provides support to
nonprofit organizations to increase their capacity
to provide effective and affordable care to the
elderly population. A focus area for the Foundation
is to integrate and improve health-related
services. The Foundation supports a limited number
of projects that offer considerable potential for
national impact in demonstrating integrated
financing and care delivery for comprehensive

The
Rasmuson Foundation is accepting applications
for its 2006 Sabbatical Program. The program
is designed to provide time away from the office for
professional growth and personal renewal for
Executive Directors and Chief Executive Officers of
health and human service agencies in Alaska. Grants
of up to $30,000 each will be awarded. The
sabbatical may run from two to six continuous

The U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development is
offering a Grant Writing Workshop on
September 27 and 28 in Anchorage. The workshop will
cover the steps for a successful grant application.
It will show you how to become more competitive for
federal grants, and will also discuss corporate and
foundation funding sources. The workshop is free.

Authority include those Alaskans experiencing mental
illness; developmental disabilities; chronic
alcoholism; Alzheimer's disease or related

The Alaska
Mental Health Trust Authority is accepting
proposals for its Small Projects Funding
program. The program is designed to create new
services of direct benefit to Trust beneficiaries.
These services are not normally funded by another
part of government. They can be innovative, new
program ideas, or substantially improve and
supplement existing activities. They can also
significantly increase the quality of ongoing
projects. Each small project is limited to a
maximum of $10,000. The intent is to spend one-half
of the Small Projects Fund ($250,000 yearly) on
projects that serve beneficiaries in rural areas.
