The State of Alaska has several vacancies on its Employment of People with
Disabilities Board. The vacancies are for a parent, an advocacy/community
rehabilitation representative, and an employer. For more information,

The Center for Substance Abuse Treatment has funding available to develop
comprehensive drug/alcohol and mental health treatment systems for persons
who are homeless. The Treatment for Homeless Grant program is designed to
enable communities to expand and strengthen their treatment services for
homeless individuals with substance abuse disorders, mental illness, or with
co-occurring substance abuse disorders and mental illness. Approximately $9
million will be available to fund 15 to 17 grants. The deadline is June 19.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is
accepting applications for its Conference Grant Program and its Targeted
Capacity Expansion Program. The Conference Grant Program supports up to 75
percent (to a maximum of $50,000) of the total direct costs of domestic
conferences developed for knowledge synthesis and dissemination. For more

Expansion Program is designed to expand substance abuse treatment capacity
in targeted areas by addressing gaps in treatment capacity. For more

The Enterprise Foundation is accepting applications for the Jim & Patty
Rouse Award, which recognizes the work being done by community-based and
regional nonprofit organizations and Tribes and/or Tribally Designated
Housing Entities that develop and provide low-income housing. The amount of
the award is $5,000. The deadline is April 26. For more information,

The Foundation for Child Development supports research, policy, and other
programs that seek to prevent child poverty and to promote the economic
security of low-income families. Over the past few years, they have focused
on policy-relevant research on low-income working families, and on what they
need to raise healthy children who are equipped to learn. Potential

Wells Fargo Corporate Contribution Program provides grants to nonprofit
organizations in the areas of social services, youth and education, arts and
culture, civic programs and economic development. There is no deadline.

Health Policies for the 21st Century: Challenges and Recommendations for the
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends a reassessment of
existing federal health policies and programs, and identifies obstacles to a
more comprehensive health policy. The report was published by the Milbank
Memorial Fund, a foundation that supports research on issues in health

The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority's Small Projects Funding program is
designed to create innovative new program ideas, substantially improve and
supplement existing activities, or significantly increase the quality of
ongoing projects. Each small project is limited to a maximum of $10,000.
