The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
(SAMHSA) is accepting proposals for Targeted Capacity Expansion Grants. These grants are intended to expand
substance abuse treatment capacity in targeted areas. The program is designed to address the gaps in treatment capacity
by supporting rapid and strategic responses to demands for substance abuse,
including alcohol and drug treatment services in communities with emerging drug
problems as well as communities with innovative solutions to unmet needs. The deadline is January 10. For more information, contact Ken Robertson

Applications are being accepted for the Johnson & Johnson
Community Health Care Program. The
grants are designed to support programs in community and public health that
improve access to health-care services for medically underserved
populations. Preference will be given

The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) is a nonprofit,
policy resource center that promotes high quality health care services for
low-income populations and people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. CHCS also directs national programs for the Robert
Wood Johnson Foundation and the Annie E. Casey Foundation. For more information on the various

The NewDeal Foundation donates computer hardware and software to
promote computer literacy and provide Internet access to nonprofit
organizations. The foundation’s support
entails the installation of its Discovery Media Labs, which are computer

The JM Foundation makes grants in two general program areas:
health and rehabilitation, and education and public-policy research. Its goals are to help disabled people lead
fulfilling and independent lives, and to promote preventive and
patient-centered health care. There is

The Rockefeller Brothers Fund provides grants in the area of
health, including health-services research, improved medical education, the

The Enterprise Foundation and The J.P. Morgan Chase Foundation recognize
nonprofit job training and placement organizations across the country that are
using best practices to effectively help low-income individuals find and retain
quality jobs as a means out of poverty.
The J.P. Morgan Chase Foundation Awards for Excellence in Workforce
Development honors three organizations with $15,000 each and may be used to
cover any of the program or operational needs supporting the missions of the
selected organizations. The deadline is
