The Alaska Commission on Aging is soliciting proposals for ADRD
Family Caregiver Support Projects for 2002 and 2003. The focus of the program is to identify and
provide assessments, information, and support services for family caregivers
who provide care for persons of any age with Alzheimer’s disease or related
disorders in rural areas and persons with ADRD under 60 in urban areas. Private nonprofit organizations, Native

The Nathan Cummings Foundation funds programs that improve the
health and well being of people at the beginning and end of their lives. Their focus is to improve access to
government-supported, health-related programs for low-income pregnant women,
children under six, and people who are dying.

The Ford Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations in
the areas of asset building and community development, education and culture,
and social justice. Organizations should
submit a brief letter of inquiry outlining the purpose of the proposed project,

nominations for the 2002 Yoneo Ono Award. The award honors volunteers who have made a

The Alaska Federation of Natives and the First Alaskans Foundation are hosting an
all-day Leadership Development Summit on October 24 Egan Center. The Summit is designed for Alaska Natives in
their 20’s and 30’s, as well as high school seniors and university students who
