Dear Mental Health Stakeholders,


The Alaska Mental Health Board will meet on June 24-26, 2000 in Galena at the 
Larson Charlie Community Hall. As indicated in the attached agenda, the meeting 
will also include visits to the village communities of Kaltag, Ruby and Nulato.


As we stated in an earlier letter, we will be departing from some of our usual 
meeting practices in order to maximize time to address rural issues and 
concerns. With this goal in mind, we will not be taking telephonic agency 
reports. Please feel free to submit agency reports in writing; we can include 
written agency reports in the Board packets if we receive them by Friday, June 
9.


If you plan to travel to Galena for the meeting, please coordinate with Barb 
Magnusson from our staff, since travel options and accommodations are limited. 
Please also let Barb know if you would like to provide an in-person agency 
report; if you give a report, please direct your comments towards rural issues 
that your group is addressing. 


We are excited about meeting in a more rural location and hope that some of you 
will be able to join us. If you have questions, please contact us at 465-3071.

into three groups of 8 to 10 people per village: 1. Group #1 will fly to Kaltag, 
spend the day there, and boat back to Galena. 
2. Group #2 will fly to Kaltag, immediately boat to Nulato, spend the day there, 
and boat back to Galena. 
3. Group #3 will boat from Galena to Ruby, spend the day there, and boat back to 
Galena.
