10:00 a.m. – Treatment Team Observation

PERC members will individually observe treatment teams on each unit focusing on:

Treatment (model, milieu, discharge planning)
Community capacity (community/patient supports, placements, etc.)
Cultural competency/diversity

10:45 a.m. – Unit Tours

PERC will regroup for unit tours. Two or three separate groups will tour units with opportunity to discuss issues as they arise and time for potential patient dialogues. Focus on new or reconfigured elements of hospital.

11:15 a.m. – Public Comment
12:00 p.m. – Lunch (at API)

1:00 p.m. – API Overview: Operations and Issues

API’s role in the system, current and prospective
Budget outline
Staffing (stability, adequacy, UAA field placements, medical interns)
Census (LOS, capacity, etc.)
Standards/Reviews (updates on WPSHA benchmarks?)

2:00 p.m. – Implementation of API Quality Assurance Recommendations

Status of measures agreed to by DHSS Commissioner.

2:30 p.m. – Admitting Unit

Status and performance of unit and the impact on the adult unit.

3:00 p.m. – 1998 PERC Review Issues

Treatment teams and discharge planning
Advocacy, Patient Rights, and Outreach
Cultural Diversity
Patient/staff safety
Hospital capacity and functions

4:00 p.m. – Review Debriefing

4:30 p.m. - Adjourn
