The Alaska Mental Health Board will meet June 16-18, 2004 at the Aspen Hotel in Anchorage. The draft agenda contains the meeting schedule and is available online at www.amhb.org. Meeting highlights will include:

¨ A June 16 work session to discuss the issue of a new name for the new state psychiatric hospital facility.

¨ A tour of the Alaska Psychiatric Institute and the replacement facility currently under construction on the afternoon of June 17.

¨ A consumer forum (tentatively) the evening of June 17.

¨ A full board work session to evaluate readiness for and progress toward integrated behavioral health services in Alaska.

¨ Public comment sessions take place at 3:00 p.m., June 16 and 1:15 p.m., June 18.

As is the custom, the details of this agenda may change somewhat as the meeting nears. We ask for your understanding and flexibility concerning such changes.

The Board encourages and appreciates your interest in mental health in Alaska and your involvement during this time of transition. We invite you to attend all or part of the AMHB meeting and related activities.
