On August 10, 1999, akmhcweb opened its "Computer Connection" with three Internet enabled computers for consumer use. Since then, due to its popularity, the Computer Connection and Clubhouse has 12 consumer computers as well as our special "Coffee Room" and Thrift Store. After operating completely with volunteers, in March of 2001, we received a State grant for staff to keep the Computer Connection open 12 hours a day, seven days a week. We are always looking for qualified consumers to help us in achieving this level of operation. The Computer Connection is always a good place for out of town consumers to visit and we have guest speakers of interest as well.
